Thanksgiving is a day to celebrate all the things we are thankful for with our friends and family. However being the host can be super stressful. Be prepared and try these 6 Hacks For A Smooth Thanksgiving to make your day more relaxing and fun.

Make a list and do your shopping at least a week before.

Not only will it open up more time closer to Thanksgiving, stores are more likely to have the items you need in stock. You can also order things like cranberry sauce, stuffing, yams, and other canned vegetables from Amazon Fresh. We are already seeing shortages on certain groceries, so get your shopping done early.

Check to make sure all of your cookware is in working order and ready to go.

Some people like to use a crockpot, Instant Pot, air fryer, or electric roasting pan to make part of their meal so they can free up oven space. Test those to see if they are working correctly. If not, you will have time to purchase another one. If you have special dinnerware that you use for holiday meals, get that out and cleaned up ahead of time. Check out some of our Thanksgiving air fryer, crockpot, and Instant Pot recipes.

Ask guests to bring a side dish

In my family, we always share the cooking responsibilities. It helps take the pressure off of the host. Foods can get expensive, so it’s nice to be able to split up the cost.

Make desserts the day before

Most pies and other desserts will stay fresh and yummy for a couple of days. Prepare them a day or 2 early to free up some time on Thanksgiving Day. We’ve compiled 30 Easy Make-Ahead Thanksgiving Dish Recipes to give you some ideas.

Do as much prep work as possible.

There are many things that can be easy but time-consuming. Cut up your vegetables and peel your potatoes the day before. Remember to store your peeled potatoes in a bowl of water in the refrigerator to keep them fresh and moist. Don’t think you have the right cutting utensils for the job? Don’t wait to make centerpieces and set your table

If you like to set a pretty table, it might be easier to get it set up the day before your meal. Of course this will only work if you are not going to be using the table before Thanksgiving dinner. Feeling crafty? Try your hand at making this cute and easy DIY Fall Centerpieces.
