This is the time of year when many of us get the spring cleaning itch. The holidays are over, the winter doldrums are beginning to end, and we all want a house that feels clean and fresh.
As the weather warms up, cleaning and decluttering is a great feeling. I have found that in order to keep my cleaning effective, I have to regularly declutter my house! This could be decor, clothes, or furniture. Anything that’s no longer serving its purpose.
Today I’m going to share some of my favorite spring cleaning and decluttering resources!
Spring Cleaning & Decluttering Resources
Go Clean Co
The owner has an Instagram as well as a website. Her Instagram has so many free cleaning tips. Her posts went viral in mid-2020 when everyone was home and had nothing to do, and I’ve learned so much about keeping cleaning simple and effective. She has some cleaning guides you can purchase, but there are lots of resources on her page for free.
The Minimal Mom
I found Dawn, the Minimal Mom, on YouTube. While she doesn’t specifically post about cleaning, I have found that it’s best to declutter before you clean. Her videos have been so inspiring to me!
Dana K White — A Slob Comes Clean
Another person I discovered on YouTube is Dana White. She posts great videos about decluttering and cleaning and has also written several books, which are available for free on Hoopla. Like the Minimal Mom, she has shown me how actual cleaning shouldn’t be a huge deal, if you can get your house down to having a reasonable amount of stuff!
Clutterbug
Cas, who goes by Clutterbug, is another decluttering expert who has given me so many good tips. If you follow her advice, it will transform your home!
Ask Anna
Once you’ve decluttered, Ask Anna has checklists that can help you figure out where to start cleaning.
YouTube Playlists
When all else fails, I find watching other normal people clean and declutter to be very inspiring. This YouTube playlist of Whole House Declutters might be just the motivation you need!
