Southern Savers Baked Goods Recipes

Buying a boxed mix for sweet breads and muffins is cheap; you can usually get them for $1 or less on sale. But making homemade baked goods tastes so much better, and it’s really not that much more complicated. Plus, you can control the ingredients.

Most baked good recipes are also flexible and forgiving. If you have a dairy allergy, you can use coconut oil and almond milk. If you want to make them a bit healthier, you can substitute some of the white flour for oats or wheat flour. Unlike yeasted breads and doughs, these kind of baked goods let you make those kind of changes without altering the taste too much.

Additionally, I love making a double or triple batch of things like these because they freeze so well. If you make several different kinds of muffins or breads, you can pull out a variety of easy breakfasts or snacks over several months. These are also great to take to a new mom or someone who is sick. Who doesn’t love homemade muffins?

Here are my favorite Southern Savers baked goods recipes. Enjoy!
