Starbucks Red Cup Day arrives Nov. 16, and ordering certain beverage gets you a FREE reusable holiday cup. Here’s what to know, so you can get the freebie.
What is Red Cup Day at Starbucks?
Red Cup Day is an annual event (it takes place Nov. 16 in 2023) during which Starbucks gives out a free reusable holiday red cup when you order certain beverages. This is not the same as the fancier Starbucks holiday cups you can buy. The freebie looks like the Starbucks paper cups, but it’s plastic so it can be reused. In fact, reusing your cup at Starbucks on future visits gives you a $0.10 discount.
How to Get the Free Red Cup on Starbucks Red Cup day
Here are the ways to get the free cup in 2023 (note that cups are available only as long as supplies last, so we suggest ordering early):
- Go to a Starbucks location and order any size of a handcrafted holiday beverage. See qualifying beverages. Some options include the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato, Caramel Brulee Latte, Gingerbread Latte and more. Note: the Starbucks Christmas Blend brewed coffee and Christmas Starbucks Reserve aren’t included in the offer.
- Order a qualifying beverage ahead, with the Starbucks app.
- Order a qualifying beverage for delivery via DoorDash (use this offer to get 1% cash back!) or Uber Eats (use this offer to get $5 cash back on orders of $50+). The cup (if any are left) will be included with your order.
When is Starbucks Red Cup Day?
Red Cup Day is always in November, and 2023 is its sixth year. It took place Nov. 17 in 2022 and on Nov. 18 in 2021. Back in 2018, it was in early-November (and Starbucks ran out of cups at some locations!) Suffice it to say, keep an eye out in November before Thanksgiving for Red Cup Day to make its annual return.
