Does Sam’s Club Do Curbside Pickup?

The answer is a resounding yes.

Sam’s Club pickup lets you shop your club, pick up your order and remain in your vehicle. Simply shop online or in the Sam’s Club app and when your order is ready, you can cruise to the club and check in via text or the app. When you park in a curbside pickup spot, an employee will load your car.

Sam’s Club pickup is free to members who possess a Plus membership. It costs $4 for Club members. There isn’t a minimum order requirement, so you may order as many or few items as you want.

Place your order indicating a scheduled pickup time, and then pay using your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Sam’s Club credit card, Sam’s Club gift card or debit card.

How to Know When Your Sam’s Club Pickup Order is Ready

Sam’s Club will send you a confirmation email, message via the app or text if you provided your mobile number for the order. N

How to Pick Up Your Curbside Order

When you arrive at Sam’s Club, park in a designated curbside pickup location and use the app or text to check in. You’ll need your order number and a current government-issued photo ID to get your order.

Stay in your car and a Sam’s Club employee will drop off your order and load your car. It really is as simple as that.

How Long Will Your Order Be Available?

Your order will be available for up to 24 hours after your scheduled pickup time. Your order will be subject to cancellation if it’s not picked up within that time frame.

What Does Sam’s Club Pickup Cost?

If you have Plus membership through Sam’s Club, curbside pickup is free. Club members will pay a $4 fee.

What Are Sam’s Club Pickup Hours?

Members with a Plus membership are eligible to pick up their orders starting at 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Club members are eligible to begin curbside pick up at 10 a.m.

What Can You Order for Sam’s Club Pickup?

While you’re shopping, you’ll notice that some items are marked “pickup” to indicate that you can indeed add them to your pickup order. If items only show “ship this item,” then you won’t be able to choose them for pickup. Curbside pickup orders are subject to availability of stock in the stores and they’re limited by the Sam’s Club merchandise policy.

Can You Order Perishable Items?

When it comes to Sam’s Club grocery pickup, you can definitely order refrigerated and frozen items. Sam’s Club will keep them in a temperature controlled area prior to your arrival.

Can You Place a Same-Day Order for Sam’s Club Pickup?

As you’re shopping online or on the app, when you see a same-day slot open during checkout, select that if you plan on going to the store the same day. In order for same-day orders to be effective, they must be placed before 3 p.m. local time, and must be 13 different items or less. Keep in mind with an uptick in demand for pickup service, time slots for same day pick up might not be available.

Can Someone Else Pick Up Your Order?

Yes, someone else may pick up your order on your behalf, but they’ll need to go into Member Services in the store. They won’t be able to use the curbside pickup service. During check out, enter that person’s name, email address and phone number by tapping into the “additional pickup person” feature.

When your designated person arrives, they’ll need your order number and a government-issued photo ID to pick up your order inside the club at Member Services. As of right now, your additional pickup person can not use the curbside pickup option.

Can You Get a Receipt and/or Gift Receipt When You Use Sam’s Club Pickup?

Yes, this is definitely possible. After you pick up your order, Sam’s Club will send your receipt via email. For gift receipts, when you checkout, select that option and provide the requested information to get the gift receipt sent via email.

What Is That Authorization Hold on Your Account?

When you place an order, an authorization hold is made on your credit or debit card. Essentially, it’s a temporary hold to confirm that funds are available in the amount of your purchase price.

Within three to five business days, your credit card company or bank will typically remove the additional amount of the authorization hold. And no worries — you’ll only be charged for items you actually pick up.

Why Is There Still a Charge if Your Order Got Canceled?

Keep in mind you won’t be charged for a canceled order. The authorization hold for a canceled order may appear on your credit card, but it will be removed within three to five business days.

Can You Cancel a Sam’s Club Pickup Order?

Yes. Canceling an order is possible and easy. Refer to the phone number included in your Sam’s Club confirmation email. You may either call to cancel or visit the Sam’s Club location.

Can You Save Money on Sam’s Club Curbside Pickup Orders?

Instant savings will still apply on pickup orders. When you order and prepay, if the order is still valid, then the instant savings discounts will be applied.

Can Your Order be Tax Exempt?

In order to be eligible for a tax exempt purchase as part of curbside pickup, you must already be approved for tax exempt status on your membership. If you’re not approved, you won’t be able to make the purchase as tax exempt. When your tax exempt membership status has been approved, this means you’ll be able to indicate some or all of the items purchased as tax exempt during the checkout process.
