Ah, Alo. Just the name gives me goosebumps. Known for their Goddess Leggings, unique styles, and fabric and textures you’d never imagined could be functional, Alo is the first brand people from all walks of life will flock to for high-quality athletic apparel, including Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
Don’t let its name fool you. Alo isn’t just for yoga — it’s for Pilates, barre, running, training, weightlifting, and anything else that requires moving away from the couch. Besides making really cool athletic wear, Alo commits to “clean practices and a clean environment.” Alo is a 100% sweatshop-free brand, ensuring the factories and offices operate in ethical and humane ways and countless other ways to help reduce their carbon footprint.
Although my feelings run deep for Alo, I still don’t want to pay full price — and I’m sure you don’t, either. These are the savings tips I use to get the most bang for my buck, and even if some don’t apply to you, it’s good to have them in your back pocket for when or if they might.
1. Join Alo Access
Pretty much every retailer has their own loyalty program, and now, so does Alo. The brand new Alo Access program lets you earn 1 point for every $1 you spend — both in stores and online. Plus, it’s 100% free to join. To sign up and unlock your member-only benefits, create a free Alo account with your email. If you already have an account, sign in to activate your new Alo Access benefits.
As long as you stay an active member, your accumulated points won’t expire. But after 18 months or more of inactivity, your points will expire.
Note: Alo’s website says, “For a limited time, customers who made a qualifying Alo purchase in 2022 will be able to claim their points by using the email address provided at time of purchase.”
Alo Access Benefits
When you join Alo’s loyalty program, you’ll get 10% off your first order and a free welcome gift just for signing up, a birthday gift, first dibs on new drops and access to members-only sales.
Alo Access has three membership tiers: VIP (0-200 points), A-list (300-999 points) and AllAccess (1,000+ points). Your tier is based on how many points you earn within 12 months. Right now, the gifts available for redemption range from a Vitamin Gel Shot for 20 points to Goddess Leg Warmer for 500 points, for example.
2. Shop Alo Sales
Naturally, with price points as high as Alo’s, heading to the sale section is your best bet. Alo’s discounted products like leggings, bra tops and shorts, to name a few, are up to 40% off. Check the Alo men’s sale and the women’s sale all year.
Aloversary Sale
Although Alo has been around for over 15 years, it didn’t run its anniversary sale until 2022, aptly called the Aloversary Sale. In 2023, it popped up on May 2 and featured 30% off, so mark your calendars for next year’s opportunity.
Memorial Day Sale
Yes, Alo holds annual Memorial Day sales. In past years, we’ve seen savings of up to 50% at the retailer. Alo usually starts this sale early, so start thinking about your future purchases toward the end of May.
Labor Day Sale
Like other retailers throwing holiday sales, Alo has its annual Labor Day sale, too. Deals have included up to 60% off tops, leggings, sports bras, hoodies and much more. Stop by Aloyoga.com over Labor Day weekend, starting Sept. 1 this year, to find savings on past season merchandise.
Black Friday Sale
Yippie! Alo has a Black Friday sale — and it’s called the Alo Epic Black Friday sale. In 2023, Alo offered its annual sale on the Monday before Black Friday, featuring 30% off full-priced items and up to 70% off sale merchandise.
Cyber Monday Sale
Cyber Monday is a big deal at Alo. In 2022, online shoppers saved up to 70% on sale merchandise and 30% sitewide. In 2024, Cyber Monday falls on Dec. 2, but you can expect deals to start well before then.
3. Refer a Friend for 10% Off
This is everything you think it is: Refer your besties and people you love, kind of like, or even don’t like. Either way, they’ll get 10% off their first order, and you’ll get 10% off (it used to be $25 off) when they make a purchase. For every single person you refer . You’ll have your own shareable personal link to post on social media or give to anyone, including class members, if you’re a fitness instructor.
4. Get a Free Trial of Alo Moves
When you prefer to get your yoga on at home, look no further than Alo Moves. The online platform lets you take studio-quality classes — whenever and wherever you want — from Alo’s world-class instructors. You get a free 14-day trial with unlimited yoga, fitness and meditation classes, and then if you like it, you pay $12.99 (decreased from $20) a month or $129 (decreased from $199) a year. You can cancel anytime. If you make a purchase, then you also get 30 free days of Alo Moves.
5. Subscribe to the Alo Newsletter
Before Alo introduced its loyalty program, the Alo newsletter (previously known as Alo Fam) was the only way to get notifications of new collections and the insider scoop on classes and community events. Now you have two ways.
When you sign up for the Alo newsletter, you’ll receive 10% off your first purchase. As a subscriber, you’ll get notifications of new collections and the insider scoop on classes and community events.
6. Join the Alo Pro Program
Note: As of this publish date, Alo is in the middle of changing its Pro Program, so check back for an update.
Certified fitness professionals who are actively teaching in studios and gyms are eligible to get a 25% discount on Alo apparel. The Pro Program discount is only available for full-priced merchandise with a max $5,000 discount per year. It takes about 14 business days to receive approval.
7. Get Free Shipping From Alo
Alo offers free worldwide shipping on every order, with no minimum, using UPS Ground shipping. If you want it quicker, then you have the option to use UPS 2nd Day Air for $15 or UPS Next Day Air for $25.
8. Look for Alo Coupons
Don’t go online shopping at Alo.com until you check out the promo codes and coupons RetailMeNot offers. This will help ensure you’re getting the best deal and cash back offers on your favorite athletic gear.
9. Other Ways to Save at Alo
These are the other small ways to find discounts and get freebies from Alo:
Follow Alo on Instagram
The Alo IG Challenge gives you extra motivation or picks you up when you need it. Everyone who takes part gets a chance to win Alo gear — including clothing and mats, to name a few. Follow Alo on Instagram.
Here’s how to join an Alo challenge:
- When a challenge is announced, click “Follow” on the challenge host’s Instagram page.
- Share a daily pic with the hashtag #AloYoga so others can follow along with you on your journey.
- The hosts choose winners at the end of each challenge.
Download the Alo App
Downloading the Alo app for your Apple iOS or Android device helps you get notifications for new drops and app-exclusive savings. Plus, it makes checking out quicker and easier.
Check the Alo Return Policy
You can return any item you buy from Alo within 30 days of purchase as long as it still has the original tags and is “unworn, unwashed, unaltered or unused merchandise in a sellable condition,” according to its website. Right now, Alo doesn’t offer price matching. Any item like bodysuits, underwear or merchandise that’s marked as “Final Sale” can’t be returned.
Alo Returns
Here’s a breakdown of how Alo returns work:
- Full-priced merchandise purchased in-store can be returned for an exchange, full refund, Alo gift card or store credit within 30 days of your purchase. You’ll need to have the original sales receipt.
- If you don’t want to go back to the store to make a return, send it back using an online return form via UPS.
- If you’re shipping your order back from somewhere outside the U.S., customers handle return shipping costs.
How to Make an Alo Return:
- If you placed an online order, you received a prepaid label. But don’t worry if you lost it — you can print another one.
- Package up your return and drop it off at a UPS location or if you receive a FedEx return label, then go to FedEx to ship the package.
- You’ll get an email once a refund is issued, which is usually within two to four business days.
Watch ‘Alo Gives’ Videos for Free
Alo Gives is an online platform “dedicated to bringing movement and mindfulness to kids of all ages,” says its website. It includes free, Scholastic-approved videos for classrooms or at home to introduce kids to mindfulness in their bodies and minds while muting negativity. The five-minute videos offer life-altering skills to help with challenges that may come their way.
RSVP to a Free Alo Class
Armed with a mission to bring yoga to the world, Alo’s monthly community events are held online and in-person for free. They include mindfulness exercises like breathing, vitality tips, Power Flow classes, clean-beauty tips, and more.
Shop Other Retailers for Alo Merch
Other retailers besides Alo carry the brand and run frequent sales. These are a few of our favorites:
Bloomingdale’s
Bloomingdale’s is another must-shop store for finding Alo on sale. Also, you can save with RetailMeNot’s cash back offers and earn Bloomingdale’s Loyallist points to boot.
Amazon
Alo has a dedicated store on Amazon and runs frequent discounts, which include 25% off Alo’s popular Airbrush Leggings, for example.
Revolve
Revolve carries a slew of designer brands that include Aviator Nation and Beach Bunny, for example, right alongside Alo. You can score deep discounts, although sizes are sometimes limited.
Shopbop
Although the Alo collection isn’t as plentiful as it is at other retailers, Shopbop still carries the brand’s most popular styles. Plus, you can get them on sale and earn RetailMeNot cash back, too.
