If you haven’t heard, Restoration Hardware has this magical customizable couch called “The Cloud.” With a name like that from a brand like that, you can imagine it costs a pretty penny, and you’re correct. But no need to worry. I’ve found the best Cloud Couch alternatives that also feel like a cuddly dream. In fact, one of them is in my living room!
What Is Restoration Hardware’s Cloud Couch?
The RH Cloud Couch is wrapped in a luxuriously soft layer of 100% pure down goose feathers. Fun fact: Each cushion contains up to 8.2 pounds of feathers! The Cloud prides itself on its customization options. Typically, you’ll find five fabrics immediately available for most models (but there are lot of “special order fabrics” you can choose from as well), two types of fills, three depths, variety of lengths and 20+ colors.
The two-seat cushion sofa (pictured above) is designed with nods to the relaxed modernism of the mid-20th century and features a low 24-inch back and broad arms for sink-in comfort. Again, there are so many options to choose from, and the couch can be as large as you’d like. You can add a chase sectional and as many pillows as you want.
Some reviewers liken The Cloud to a bean bag because it does sit lower to the ground, which provides a laid-back feel. I want to call that out, as that can be a negative for some.
How Much Does the Cloud Couch Cost?
There are many customizable options available for RH’s Cloud Couch, with an ottoman starting at $1,895 ($1,421 for members), chairs starting at $3,895 ($2,921 for members) and the actual sofa at $5,195 ($3,896 for members). Sectionals are available, and the highest-priced item is a daybed that reaches $9,895 for non-members.
