Copycat Moe’s Queso Recipe

If my kids have a choice about where we’re eating, they either choose Chick-fil-a or Moe’s. And one of the reasons they love Moe’s is the queso. What’s not to love about warm, creamy cheese that you can dip your chips in?

However, when sticking to a frugal lifestyle we don’t eat out often, so I decided to try my hand at making their queso at home so we could have it alongside tacos, burritos, or quesadillas. While this copycat Moe’s queso may not be 100% authentic, it’s close enough!

Copycat Moe’s Queso

You can use any kind of cheese if you’re running low on supplies, but pepper jack gives it a little extra kick.

You’ll need American cheese (for the melt factor), pepper jack cheese, diced jalapenos and juice from the jar, heavy cream, vinegar, and salt.

Put the cheeses and the cream in a saucepan over medium heat and wait until the cheese starts to melt and the mixture begins to bubble. Stir frequently!

Once it’s all melted, turn the heat to low and add the rest of the ingredients. You can add more jalapenos if you like it spicy.

Serve warm with chips or spoon it onto burritos, tacos, or nachos. You’ll definitely be making this recipe again.
