This is literally one of the easiest recipes I have ever posted. It’s not even really much of a recipe, but it’s so good, I wanted to share it! I love making this for dipping things or spreading on wraps or sandwiches. At the end of the post I’ll share one of my favorite low-carb wrap ideas. This is essentially a version of hummus, but true hummus includes tahini, which this spread doesn’t. So it’s kind of like hummus, and kind of its own thing. Either way, you need to make this easy white bean spread!
Easy White Bean Spread or Dip
I like using Northern beans for this recipe, but garbanzo beans or other beans (even black beans!) will work as well. This is just what I had on hand.
Make sure you drain and rinse the beans really well in a colander.
Add the beans to a food processor, then add the sour cream and olive oil.
Puree, scraping down the sides as needed to get a consistent texture.
Add spices to your liking – I added garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika, and parsley.
My favorite way to use this is to make low carb wraps. This shows a slice of chicken breast, salami, some pepperoni, cheese, and the white bean spread, topped with banana peppers.
Then just roll them up and enjoy. This white bean spread makes such a great addition to this meal idea!
Ingredients
- 1 can northern beans, drained and rinsed
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- garlic powder
- salt and pepper
- paprika
- parsley
Directions
- After draining and rinsing the beans, add them to a food processor along with the sour cream and olive oil. Add a bit more olive oil as needed if you want it creamier.
- You may need to scrape down the sides with a spatula to get a consistent texture.
- Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, parsley, and other seasonings to your desired taste!
