Many companies have since recognized that there is no need to provide office space for certain positions, resulting in an uptick in legitimate work from home opportunities.

Insurance Jobs – Whether it’s for auto, health or life, insurance companies offer many work from home job opportunities. Some of the jobs our readers specifically mentioned include insurance adjusters, claims representatives & sales representatives. Transcription – This is a great job if you’re looking for flexible, part-time work. Transcription requires listening to audio files and typing out what you hear. Most companies will require you to take short, simple transcription tests prior to accepting you but besides that, most companies that hire newbies just require you to have a computer and high-speed internet. Medical Coding & Billing – The responsibilities of a Medical Coder vary from one healthcare facility to another, but their main role is to assign codes to medical procedures and diagnoses for insurance claims. Medical Auditors ensure compliance with industry regulations as well as maintain quality assurance. Most facilities require at least a certification and associate degree. Virtual Assistant or Bookkeeper – A virtual assistant performs administrative duties for business owners. These may include answering and responding to calls and emails, scheduling appointments, customer support, bookkeeping, data entry and more. Many of us already have transferrable experience through previous jobs, so be sure to include anything relevant on your resume and cover letter.
