My guys don’t just like pizza, they LOVE pizza!
I probably have a dozen or more pizza recipes that I rotate from week to week. Sometimes it’s a thin crust or a deep dish pizza that’s on the menu. Pizza pockets and pizza rolls are always a popular option too. Then there’s the matter of toppings… being able to mix and match means the options are endless!
But, when I want to shake things up, I pull out a pie crust and whip up a Pizza Pot Pie.
While you can make a big pot pie, I prefer to make mini pies so that everyone gets exactly what they love. Fill your pie tin with a crust, add plenty of your favorite Mutti Sauce for Pizza and then pack in lots of toppings. Add the top crust and bake until golden.
Once it bakes up, the only thing left is to dig into that hearty pie and enjoy that amazing flavor!
- 2 refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 cup Mutti Sauces for Pizza, any variety – Parma, Positano, or Napoli
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded and divided
- 2 oz pepperoni slices
- ¼ cup black olives
- ¼ cup cooked and crumbled sausage
- ¼ cup sliced mushrooms
- ½ bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, shredded
- Preheat oven to 425º F.
- Pour the Mutti Sauce for Pizza into a large bowl. Add the pepperoni, sausage, black olives, mushrooms, bell pepper and half of the mozzarella cheese then stir to combine.
- Fit one pie crust into a standard pie plate.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the prepared crust.
- Top with with the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Place the second pie crust on top and press the two crusts together then crimp to seal the edges.
- Sprinkle the parmesan over top and cut 3 1-inch slits in the crust.
- Bake in 450º oven for 35 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
- Slice and serve warm.
