Where to Find the Stanley Quencher in Stock

6 min

Stanley cups (particularly the 40-Oz. Quencher) have been one of the hottest items of the past couple years — a plot twist for a century-old brand that, until recently, was the furthest thing from “trending.”

The good news: Limited-time collections aside, for the better part of a year, the Stanley 40-oz. Quencher has been readily available and in stock. Long gone are the days that this cup was impossible to get.

However … if you want a specific color or a limited-time collection, the game changes. Just because the Stanley Quencher is available in general, doesn’t mean the exact color you want will be. Here’s how to navigate the hype and find Stanley cups in stock.

Are Stanley’s New Colors in Stock?

Stanley just dropped a new color line (eight bright and spring-y colors) for the famous Quencher H2.0 FlowState tumbler ($45) on Feb. 13. This is Stanley’s traditional annual drop, where it releases fresh colors into its color palette. The 2024 roster includes pomelo (yellow), azure, lilac, tiger lily, mist, blue spruce and fuchsia.

As of Feb. 14, most of those colors are still in stock (fuchsia is the hardest to find in stock). Here are the stores that are carrying them:

Both have the Quencher priced at $45 (40-oz. size), so you can shop at whichever still has the color you want.

Check for more upcoming drop dates for limited-edition Stanley cups.

Are the Tie-Dyed Stanleys Still Available?

Stanley dropped a line of tie-dyed cups last year, and they sold out quickly. We saw them pop in and out of stock at Target, but they’re currently sold out there, too.

Are the Target Stanley Adventure Quencher Colors Still Available?

Target and Stanley recently teamed up to offer some different color lines in ombre, pearlescent, die-dye a Magnolia Hearth & Hand collection and most recently, a Valentine’s Day collection. These collections ALWAYS sell out fast, and the ones mentioned above are long gone (except for on third-party resale sites).

Where Can I Find the Stanley Quencher Now?

The in-stock status of the Stanley Adventure Quencher is always shifting. But here’s exactly where to check for it, to give yourself the biggest chance at snagging a specific color. Don’t get your hopes up of finding Stanley on sale (it’s still too popular).

1. Stanley Website

Visit Stanley’s official website to learn about their current products and inventory. Stock is currently really good, even on the new colors, with more than a dozen options available.

If there’s a particular color you want that’s not in stock, you can enter your email address to be notified when it comes back in stock. Just act fast when you get that email.

If you are open to (or prefer) smaller sizes without handles there are plenty of other Adventure Quencher Travel Tumblers in stock as well.

2. Williams Sonoma

Williams Sonoma sells the Stanley Quencher 40 oz. Tumbler and has several colors available in both the 40-oz. and 30-oz size. Its color selection usually isn’t as large as other retailers’ but you’ve got options.

3. Dick’s Sporting Goods

Dick’s Sporting Goods sells the Stanley Adventure Quencher 40 oz. online and in stores. And its selection and colors are usually what you’ll also find on Stanley’s site.

4. Target

Target sells the Stanley Adventure Quencher 40 oz. online and in-store, but the colors tend to be more limited than at other stores. However, Target is famous for its limited-edition (and VERY limited-quantity) colorways that drop and immediately sell out. Plus, Starbucks locations within Target stores also get their own special-edition colors. So keep an eye on Target if you’re a Stanley collector.

5. Amazon

Amazon sells the Stanley Adventure Quencher 40 ounce in a variety of colors at the $45 mark.

If you want a rare or limited-edition color, various Amazon sellers have those available. You will, however, pay for the privilege of finding these more coveted colors available, due to them largely being available from marketplace sellers (who are marking up the price). Some rare colors are priced up to $300 (collectible, limited-edition)!

6. Poshmark

Poshmark sells, or rather resells, the Stanley Adventure Quencher 40 oz. Tumbler, and they have a variety of rare colorways in stock now. However, you will pay way more than the retail price for these items. They range in price from $80 to $150. If you are after a limited-edition color and didn’t get in line at 6 a.m. at your local Target, this is a good resource. Learn how to sell your stuff on Poshmark.

7. REI

REI is a reliable Stanley supplier and often stocks the new colors as they come in. Sometimes, it offers early access to new color drops to its members, which can be a good way to snag a hard-to-get color.

8. eBay

There are plenty of listings on eBay for the 40-oz. Stanley Adventure Quencher — even some of the Target colors. Expect a markup, though, of anywhere from $10 to $40 above the usual price, depending on the color. Note: offers in the image above are for example only and subject to change. Some of the cups are available with eBay’s Buy it Now option, while some of them are up for auction (which could actually get you a cheaper price for colors with less interest).

9. Mercari

The store where you can sell and buy pretty much anything from anyone has plenty of the “rare” Stanley Adventure Quencher colors available, but at a markup. Expect to pay up to $120 for some colors on Mercari. The recently-sold-out Orchid color is $100. If you’re looking for a common color, you might actually get a nice discount. We see options for as low as $38.

Why Is the Stanley Adventure Quencher Sold Out Sometimes?

The Stanley Adventure Quencher 40 oz. Tumbler was always sold out for the better part of 2022 because it’s a full-blown internet star. In a recent article by Forbes, they mentioned that restocked products sell out in 24 hours. While we wouldn’t call $45 to $50 cheap (price varies by color line), the Stanley Adventure Quencher is affordable enough to make it a wildly popular internet sensation. If all the reviewers, bloggers, Instagram accounts and TikTok videos are right, it’s popular also because it truly is a well-designed and useful product. The Stanley Adventure Quencher 40 oz. Tumbler is made of insulated stainless steel, comes in stylish colorways, offers multiple lid configurations for different uses and has an ergonomic handle. It also keeps drinks hot for seven hours, cold for 11 hours and iced for up to two whole days.

In fact, last summer there was a waitlist of over 100,000 for this well-loved water vessel. If you aren’t dead set on getting a real Stanley, you can find many well-rated dupes. Patience or extra cash will pay off – if you are willing to wait, hunt or pay more than retail price, you can get the Stanley Adventure Quencher Tumbler. The Stanley Adventure Quencher 40 oz. with handle is especially sought after because it holds an impressive 40 ounces, keeps your drink cool or hot, looks stylish and fits into your car’s cup holder. Our guide informs you on all the best places to order your Stanley Adventure Quencher, but don’t blame us if it’s sold out.

Reusable cups in general are also getting more popular. Every doctor, nutritionist and fitness buff will tell you staying hydrated is one of the most important ways to maintain overall health and wellness. But it can be tough to meet your daily water/hydration needs, especially when you are out and about. You can buy a drink or bottle of water, but when you consider the cost of single serve drinks and, more importantly, the ecological impact of the associated waste, it makes much more sense to bring your own reusable drink to go. There are endless reusable cups and bottles on the market but It’s not easy to find really good reusable drink cups, so it’s no wonder that the clever, well-designed Stanley Adventure Quencher is in such high demand.
